We are well into the busy social season here at HMB. There's always plenty to do. Much has already happened, and more is yet to come. As this goes to print, we had a successful Welcome Back Party, and the Super Bowl Sausage event was a big hit. The Valentine's Pasta Dinner Night was a sell-out as usual. The new method of selling tickets seems to have worked well. Many thanks to all of the wonderful residents who helped with these events. Thanks to Jack and Pat Hernder and their team of friends who always make Super Bowl Sausage Sunday a great success.
We really appreciate the efforts of all the folks who worked so hard to make this year's Pasta Night live up to it's reputation as a seasonal favorite. Thanks to our resident chefs, Frank and Anna Appice, Maria Fusco, Renata Zullo, Sam Matteace, and to Jack Hernder for the homemade sausage. Thanks also to : Andy Marino event chairperson, Don and JoMarie DuBois who decorated the clubhouse, and donated all of the decorations, Tuula Friedman and Marie DeRidder for selling tickets and arranging tables, and to our bartender Bob Gutterson. Thanks to Ann and John Sceppa who are always there to help with whatever needs to be done. Your support is invaluable Thanks to all the ladies who set the tables, and the gang that helped clean up in the evening after the event, and the next morning. Sam Matteace was, as always, right there to help put things in order. We couldn't have done it without your help. From all of us on the Social Committee to all of you. THANK YOU!
The Wednesday & Sunday BBQ’s are in full swing thanks to the organizational skills of Pat Hernder and Jo Marie DuBois, and the shopping skills of John Sceppa and Joe Maloney. Of course, where would the BBQ's be without all the volunteer helpers and our chefs Sam Matteace and Bob Gutterson? The weather hasn't been very cooperative, but the residents support us. Weather or not you have been there. We certainly appreciate it. Ice cream after 2 pm most days seems to be quite a hit, thanks to the ice cream crew Jack Hernder, Sam Matteace, and Bob Gutterson.
Jack Hernder and his team made and sold over 200 pounds of homemade sausage to those who wanted some to cook at home. What a great idea! Way to go Jack!

The Flyaway party is Sunday April 2nd, The Doo Wops will be in attendance. Dennis Barnish has volunteered to chair this popular event. We will once again have a potluck buffet of donated salads, pasta and deserts, along with the regular BBQ. This will be fun!
The Saturday before Easter is usually family time around the pool. Saturday, April 15th, will be the last BBQ of the season. It will be an abbreviated version serving hamburgers and hotdogs only. There will be music poolside for you to enjoy. The DuBois have offered to chair the event.
The book club's March selection is PLAIN TRUTH, written by Jodi Picoult. Great reading! Tea is on Tuesdays at 1 PM in the clubhouse. A small donation will get you some great dessert along with a cup of coffee or tea. The desserts are scrumptious thanks to many wonderful resident bakers. Bingo is on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 PM. Water Exercise is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 9AM weather permitting, tennis same days. Golf is weekly, contact Bob Meli. If you want to play, Half Moon Bay is the place to get involved. The Moon Beams is a newsletter written by and for the residents of HMB. If it is to continue we need your assistance. Articles should be submitted to Judi Hartmann. She and Bill assemble the Moon Beams, maintain the HMB website, prepare poster’s to announce events, and print the tickets for them. Thanks for keeping us informed. Here is the March calendar. You may want to post it somewhere to remind you of what’s happening when.

Reminder to Half Moon Bay Owners. Guests are a given in our part of paradise in the winter. You are responsible for your guests at all times while they are on the property. Guests should be polite, well behaved, and respectful, and they must obey the rules and regulations published by the HMB Master Association. If you are not familiar with the rules, copies are available in the clubhouse, Master Association office, and on the Half Moon Bay website at
WWW.HMB- HYPOLUXO.COM . Stay safe and have fun!
